The latest study, led by Dr Stephen West from the Department of Physics at Royal Holloway, looks at the possible effects of dark matter on the properties of the sun, if these elusive particles become trapped at its centre.

"Dark matter makes up more than 80 per cent of the total mass of the universe. We know that dark matter exists but to date it has never been produced in a laboratory or directly observed in any experiment, as a result we have very little information about what it actually is. It is important that we examine all possible ways of probing the nature of dark matter and the sun could provide us with an unexpected laboratory in which to do this," says Dr West.

Even een gedachte kronkel van mij.......:

De Zon wordt weer actiever. Zij laat inmiddels weer een paar winden, vooralsnog niets bijzonders aan de hand.
Dat powergrids, PC's en I-pods zullen verschrompelen, dat laat nog wellicht een paar jaartjes op zich wachten.

Maar ik zat zo eens te filosoferen over wat de oude volkeren een 'nieuwe zon' noemen.

Afgelopen dagen werden we getrakteerd op mooie zonnevlekken, die we tijdens zonsondergang zelfs met het blote oog konden zien.
Dit zijn hoogst waarschijnlijk kleine vlekjes, veel weten we er eigenlijk niet over.

Stel dat er dus in de oudheid héle grote vlekken voorkwamen of voor zijn gekomen. Dan moet dit voor deze oudere volkeren een énorme indrukwekkende gebeurtenis zijn geweest!
Een heilige gebeurtenis, gepaard met wellicht veel onheilspellende emoties. Daarbij mogelijk gevolgd door flinke hoeveelheden Aurea Borealis, wellicht nog zelfs temperatuur stijgingen of electromagnetische effecten op de mens zelf (is hedendaags ook al aangetoond).

Dan wellicht samen met een flinke schommeling van systemen zoals mislukken van oogsten, klimaat effecten, ziekten, ect.

Een dergelijke grote zonnevlek zou dus flinke gevolgen kunnen hebben gehad, die door de oudere volkeren als 'nieuwe zon' is betiteld. Het lijkt tenslotte erop of er een hemellichaam voor de zon verschijnt en dus na een tijd weer verdwijnt (met de nodige schade en onrust achter zich gelaten).

Verder blijkt het steeds meer duidelijk dat er grote 'intelligente' bevolkingsgroepen aanwezig waren tijdens diverse aardse-perioden, véél langer dan men al had aangenomen. Waren deze bevolkingsgroepen slachtoffer van de effect van een enorme zonnevlek???

Waarom leefden mensen in holen / grotten? Omdat ze 'primitief' waren???
Volgens mij: .....OVER-leefden mensen in holen/grotten na tijden van het brute geweld van oa. de zon, nieuwe ijstijd etc.....

Iets om over te kunnen filosoferen dacht ik zo.....

Ja, zo zie ik het eigenlijk en wat ik dus ook bedoel met OVER-leven.
Te beschermen tegen de extremiteiten van buiten, rovers, kannibalen (immers voedseltekorten), maar dus ook inderdaad tegen zonnestormen (plasma, röntgen) die ongetwijfelt nog wel even vn zich lieten gelden.

Op die manier vielen naar alle waarschijnlijkheid steeds meer slachtoffers (bijvoorbeeld, diegene die op zoek/jacht gingen naar voedsel). Zo bleven er uiteindelijk dus weer een handjevol mensen over om weer vanaf 'start' te beginnen.

Ik ben benieuwd welke geschiedenis 'wij' gaan schrijven......

The sun is a big mass of energy. The sun produces high energy protons, and the solar wind carries these protons towards our planet. However during solar flare activity, energetic protons are blown violently outwards.. sometimes towards earth. Energetic protons can reach Earth within 30 minutes of a major flare's peak. During such an event (big ones are also known as Solar Proton Events), Earth is showered with highly energetic solar particles (primarily protons) released from the flare site. When these protons arrive at Earth and enter the atmosphere over the polar regions, much enhanced ionization is produced at altitudes below 100 km. Strong M8.7 Event:

A strong solar flare reaching M8.7 was generated by Sunspot 1402 in the northern hemisphere [Movie]. The flare peaked at 03:59 UTC Monday morning and started off an a long duration M1.0 event (LDE) before eventually rising again to its maximum. An R2 Radio Blackout resulted. A 19 minute long, 10cm Radio Burst (TenFlare) was detected as well. This event did produce a Full-Halo Coronal Mass Ejection (CME), and is partially Earth directed. Just like the previous event on Jan 19, most of the plasma cloud appears to be directed north. The speed of the expanding cloud however, should be more substantial
