Fulcanelli (fl. 1920) was een mysterieuze Franse alchemist uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw. Van hem wordt gezegd dat hij als enige 20e eeuwse alchemist erin zou geslaagd zijn om de Steen der Wijzen te vinden. De boeken die op naam van Fulcanelli staan, zijn naar alle waarschijnlijkheid geschreven door Eugène Canseliet (1899-1982) die de nota's van zijn meester gebruikte.

De naam Fulcanelli was het pseudoniem van ofwel een 'meester' alchemist, ofwel van een groep Parijse occultisten. 'Fulcanelli' betekent 'Kleine Vulkaan', een verwijzing naar de Romeinse smid-god Vulcanus. Tot op heden blijft zijn identiteit een mysterie. Volgens de legende zou hij zijn manuscript Le mystère des cathédrales aan zijn leerling Eugène Canseliet overhandigd hebben met de vraag om het te publiceren. Vervolgens verdween hij. In zijn voorwoord schreef Canseliet "Fulcanelli is er niet meer". Toen Fulcanelli wegging zou hij volgens Canseliet ongeveer 70 jaar geweest zijn. Canseliet beweert hem te hebben teruggezien omstreeks 1950 en dat hij er 20 jaar jonger uitzag dan toen hij verdween.

Werk

Hij is vooral bekend omwille van twee werken waarin hij de symboliek van de architectuur verklaart:

* Le mystère des cathédrales (1926)
* Les demeures philosophales (1930)

De twee boeken waren opgedragen aan het geheimzinnige "Fraternite d'Heliopolis" (Broederschap van Heliopolis).

Finis Gloriae Mundi in Liber Mirabilis, 1999. De titel (Het einde van de glorie van de wereld) refereert aan een schilderij van Juan de Valdés Leal (1622-1690).

In het eerste boek legt hij uit dat de Notre-Dame van Parijs en andere kathedralen alchemistische geheimen verbergen. Zo zouden bas-reliëfs van de Notre Dame de verschillende alchemistische fasen van het 'Grote Werk' (Magnum Opus) tonen. In het tweede boek werkt hij dit idee verder uit en bespreekt andere gebouwen zoals Westminster Abbey en Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.

Identiteit van Fulcanelli

Er bestaan verschillende hypothesen over de identiteit van Fulcanelli, die geen van alle bewezen konden worden:

1. Het is de astronoom Camille Flammarion. Dit is de meest onwaarschijnlijke hypothese. Flammarion is wel met parapsychologie bezig geweest, maar hij zou niet ongemerkt jarenlang de alchemie hebben kunnen beoefenen.
2. Het is de Franse alchemist Eugène Canseliet, leerling van Fulcanelli. Deze hypothese wordt door velen als de juiste gezien, maar Canseliet heeft dit nooit willen bevestigen. Wel heeft hij als tussenpersoon gefungeerd tussen Fulcanelli en de uitgever van zijn boeken. Waarschijnlijk was hij de enige die de ware identiteit van zijn meester kende, maar hij heeft het geheim mee in zijn graf genomen.
3. Het is Jean-Julien Champagne (1877-1932), de Franse schilder en illustrator van de boeken van Fulcanelli.
4. Het is in feite Nicolas Flamel [2] waardoor hij op het ogenblik dat Le mystère des cathédrales gepubliceerd werd 596 jaar oud was. [2]
5. Het is de antiquair en boekenverkoper Pierre Dujols (1872-1626) [2]
6. Het is de egyptologist René Schwaller de Lubicz (1887-1961) [2]
7. Het is Jules Violle (1841-1923), de Franse natuurkundige

On the fall equinox, September 22/23 2002, something wonderful happened…

According to Fulcanelli, this astronomically significant moment signaled the season of the double catastrophe, perhaps even the Apocalypse of St. John‚Äôs Revelation. Our research revealed that the alignments of galactic, solar and planetary markers formed the Cube of Space seen by St. John as the New Jerusalem, taking shape in the sky before it descends to earth, ushering in the Chilaist millennium. Since the Cube of Space can be seen in the sky every solstice and equinox for the next ten to two hundreds years, then perhaps we are indeed undergoing an “apocalypse.”

The word‚ “Apocalypse” originally had nothing to do with the end of the world or of the age or of a terrible destructive transition. Literally it meant: “pulling away the veil.” It is the Greek noun apokalupsis, which comes from the verb apokalupto, which meant: “to disclose or uncover” (Liddell & Scott. Greek-English Lexicon. Oxford. 1972. pg. 86), and comes from adding the preposition “apo” to the Greek verb kalupto, “to cover,” (Liddel & Scott. pg. 346) and is closely associated with the noun kalputa, a veil. Thus it really meant: “uncovering by pulling away the veil.”

An Apocalypse isn’t the cataclysmic end of everything; rather it is a sudden change in perception. Before, we can’t see the reality of things; a veil of illusion and misunderstanding hides them. Then the veil is pulled away and we see how things really are, the true state of affairs. Think of Toto pulling back the curtain to reveal the Wizard of Oz.

On that day the truth will be revealed, the invisible will become visible, our blinders will be taken off, and the curtain will rise. The idea of calling the Vision of St. John an Apocalypse, the title given in the first verse, shows that it is NOT just about the end of the age. It is about the present situation, this moment in time; it’s a revealing, an unveiling, of a reality to which most of us are blind.

But, given the information in the Hendaye chapter, then it is just possible that our species is on the verge of a mass initiation experience triggered by the “new” light from the center of the galaxy. Perhaps Fulcanelli’s “double catastrophe” is both physical and mental. When the Light of the Star shines into our souls, will we be ready for the change?

The Tree of Life unites our universe across vast scales of existence. When we identify with that immensity, we expand as we try to encompass it all. The flash of gnosis is the result, and from that, if we are lucky, comes the science of alchemy.

Fulcanelli has given us excellent guidance on the process. He shows us how the initiation worked in the past, and points toward the mass initiation that may be unavoidable in our future. When Isis, the Great Cosmic Womb of the Galaxy gives birth to the new Horus Light of transformation, let us hope that we have all solved the riddle of becoming a star.

Allemachtig!!!!
Ik meldde het al ergens anders, maar dit sluit helemaal passend aan wat ik in mijn heftige droom ervaarde op de nacht van 31 december naar 1 januari 2011.

Zelf ben ik niet zo'n dromer. Ik slaap, maar altijd erg diep, zonder vaak iets te herinneren.

Niet direct door die droom, maar meer op een natuurlijke manier ervaar ik momenteel een soort onrust, echter niet als onbehaag.

Ach, wellicht wordt ik wel gek en de rest normaal....
